Ever the last formula one season ended and the retirement of Michael Schumacher was upon us. The cork pops out
with ease and the
wine flows.
I have work tomorrow -
back to the grind of rules, and timelines,
and potential failure.
But the cork is out
and the wine flows into
the glass unrestrained.
Tomorrow, I have things
to do that other people
will determine.
Things that are not mine.
But the glass in front of
me now obeys my every
command.
Tomorrow, I will wake

The “Gujral Doctrine” as pronounced by former Indian Prime Minister I K Gujral in a speech made at the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies on January 20 th 1997 consisted of five points on which the Foreign policy of India was proposed to be based. The points were that first, with neighbours like Bangladesh, […]

A good leader has a vision and we all as human have our personal dreams.
It is reported in the media recently, that Mangala is having a dream.
Dreams are depended on the character and personality of the dreamer. Therefore, it is worth knowing the background of the dreamer before analyzing the dream.
He first entered the Parliament of Sri Lanka as a representative of the Matara District in 1989, and was a appointed the Minister of Post & Telecommunications in the cabinet of President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga in 1994.
He got this fast track in political career as a gain for being supporting CBK to enter in to politics and being a slippers licker for blindly supporting every dirty work of CBK.
Then CBK wanted to bring the ‘federal constitution’ into the parliament. Throughout the history, people of this country considered unitary of state as the utmost important point. So there came the need for brain wash the ordinary people of Sri Lanka. While senior SLFP members like Mahainda Rajapaksa , Mithreepala Sirisena and Rathnasiri Wickramanayaka refused to involve with that dirty task funded by NGOs, it was Mangala (together with his close ally Dilan Perera) that took to lead the brainwash campaign named as ‘Sudu Neluma’ and ‘Thavalama’ movements.
Just as an obedient ox that pulls the cart, Mangala tirelessly drove the ‘Thavalama’ campaign, with his hand picked media mafia lead by Wasntha Raja, traveling round the country. It is at that time he got better contact with all the NGO mafia and agents of western evil forces.
In return for being blind and ardent CBK ally, Mangala got more and more political and economical power.
That was the obvious reason why he got chances in providing more job opportunities in public sector for his supporters and other deals in his ministry.
It is well known for any Sri Lankan about Mangala’s extravagant expenditures in his ministries particularly for his own personal benefit. In the CBK government, Mangala got open license to spend any amount for his own benefit and for his political campaigns. It is those who benefited for long time that is still following and supporting Mangala in order to retain their benefits in the future.
Mangala is well known for his bachelor life and his famous visits to various clubs and get-togethers in the town. It is known fact that, those who insult the maha Sangha will be getting various karmic affects, and its famous buzz that Ranil affiliated with Mangala is one of that affect.
Dreaming is good, but not so good is day dreaming.
A real dream has life span until someone wakes him up.
Fish head soup, is a great favorite of mine. Perhaps its a gross out for some, but don’t avoid it, until you’ve tried it! I make by boiling the fish head to break it up, then browning it and simmering it for hours, with garlic, a few tomatoes, and black pepper. I add a little karavala (dried fish), washed out first in boiling water, quite early. This gives the soup a really special taste.
I’ve blogged about this before, but this time, after the soup was done, I strained it, and creamed it with coconut milk power, topping it off with blanched pokchoy; so it looked a lot more ’sophisticated.’ Ha ha.
No, its not a karavala hodda, but it recalls that – a favorite thing of mine with rice – but is subtler, richer and crunchy on the touch with the greens.
A big mistake. Very big, very undo-able. Now I know what went wrong this summer. Aw shucks, I knew all along, I was just hoping it wasn’t this. Being very ‘no regrets’ and all that. So do I regret it? I don’t know. Maybe. Is that bad, to know you m…

The Rs 100/= Package Holders can choose from any of the above Plans. The Rs 500/= Package Holders can choose from Plan 5 to 13. Rs 900/= package holders can choose between Plan 11 to 13. There is no plan for the Rs 1400/= package holders since they have all the channels in the Dialog TV lineup at the moment. According to information subscribers would be able to order their plans from tomorrow onwards. Dialog claims this to be the first in the world, however SKY Digital UK and American DTH providers have similar plans where viewers can choose between particular channels for an additional fee.
The above plans give subscribers greater flexibility and freedom to choose channels according to what they can afford. It would have been much better if Dialog had categorized the plans as “Educational Pack”, “Sports Pack”, “News Pack”, “Music Pack”, etc. It could have been further separated into English, Hindi and Tamil Packs too giving subscribers greater flexibility in choosing their desired package according to their language of preference.
In other news it seems that the rain fade issue on Dialog TV (Rain fade is a problem with all DTH providers anywhere in the world) has been reduced to a great extent. It seems that over the last few days even during heavy rain the fade was limited to a few minutes only. We hope that our fellow bloggers will be able to provide us further information on the time period of rain fade that they encountered.
Dialog TV should take steps to reduce the time taken for the EPG to load when a channel is selected and they should also update the software so that the EPG for other channels can be viewed without changing the channel that one is watching. It should be said that Dialog TV have finally renamed “A1″ to “Nat Geo Adventure” in the broadcast information screen as well as on the website but looks like they forgot to update the logo since the old logo still exists on the website instead of the new “Nat Geo Adventure” Logo. They have also stopped classing Zone Reality as a new channel and hopefully they will correct the Zone Reality EPG soon since this problem has been highlighted over and over again but no corrective steps have been taken. We hope that Dialog TV will refrain from making silly mistakes such as these in the future. We urge Dialog TV to make sure that their October programme guide is totally error free. There are some errors in the September programme guide and these were highlighted in the previous post.
Please keep us updated on the latest on Dialog TV as the days progress.
