Two of the best kept secrets out of three, are out this week. I’m not talking about three Secrets entrusted to those three girls by the Blessed Virgin Mary in Fatima. These are bigger than that. I’m talking about Chandrika Bandaranayake. She is no Virgin, but she got three secrets and she reviewed two of them. Nothing holly about these secrets, these are her mistakes when she was the president that I had to pay for.
The first secret is her unholy alliance with JVP. I don’t know why she now thinks that is a mistake; it works pretty well for her back then. I’m quite happy her alliances with JVP, considering, at that point she could even alliance with the Devil, if that was an option.
Second secret is the dismissal of UNP parliament in 2004. I think it was pretty bad one. She should not have used her executive powers that excessively.
Now the third and the biggest one is still a secret. No one knows what is it yet, and she said she may reveal that in the future (or may be to the Holly Father). I try to guess what it could be, but I have hard time to pick just one out of all the things come to my mind. Can you guys guess/gals guess what it could be? Her third and the biggest mistake?

LBN relaunches website

LBN has relaunched their website giving their subscribers/prospective subscribers a whole new look.
However it should be said that the number of channels in their lineup have reduced by a few. However the website has a whole new feel to it in addition to several other features and hopefully this website will be updated regularly reflecting the true picture at LBN.
LBN should also take steps to take their analog service off line and portray themselves as a purely digital company. In addition services announced earlier such a broadband services and HDTV should be implemented.
At present the LBN digital service is available only in Colombo and this should be expanded into Wattala, Beruwala & Nuwara Eliya.
Since LBN has a service running in Wattala they should make use of this opportunity to cover areas to include Ragama, Kandana, Ja Ela where they will be able to entice a large number of subscribers. Many people in the areas mentioned above are sandwiched between cable television areas since Negombo up to Seeduwa is covered by cable television services and Wattala has cable television services which has resulted in these people acquiring connections from competitors who provide services using wireless technology. LBN will do well if they can cover these areas soon.
